Read the original explanation of why having the SP at zero was "ESSENTIAL" then read what happened only 6 short hours later...

Re: SP question! -

Jerry explained it this way. "It is actually an essential feature.
When the EA first starts, the Shadow profit is always at 0, as all
variables are when a program first starts.
You don't want it closing
orders that are set to close at -130, for example, so I set it to not
do anything until it is actually started and the shadow profit
calculates
. In addition, there are things done in this EA that are
very different from other EAs, and that makes it necessary for the
startup to be like that. Most EAs simply get their info from the chart
that they are attached to, and I had to do things very differently and
ignore the chart that it is attached to."

We are doing things that MetaTrader never anticipated. If everything
doesn't work like a traditional EA, it's because the GapTrader is not
a traditional EA. In fact we don't call it an EA at all. For those new
people who are trying to figure where the GapTrader belongs according
to their experience, it was and is a tool that we used to develop the
new trading system. Steve, we are on new ground here, we are pushing
the envelope further than anyone has pushed it before. It will not be
a simple plug and chug program for quite sometime, if ever. This is
why we encourage everyone to use the free program to get familiar with
the new type of trading that we are doing here.
A word on Jerry's expertise. If something that Jerry made works a
particular way, it's for a good reason. He writes programs for
government agencies and I am just exceptionally lucky enough to have
him as a friend. I could never afford to be able to buy his type of
expertise.
Just wanted to set the record straight by someone who was there from
the start. Thanks for giving me the chance to give recognition to the
man who truly deserves it.
Bob.

to intervene to 'reset' the shadow profit is definitely not an ideal
situation and hopefully one that will be rectified soon.
